Fun Find | Top 10 Song Lyrics of 2011

So I’ve been seriously slacking in my blog posting, but school has been insane these last few weeks and finals are starting up this week, so my life has been a little chaotic.  I promise that I do in fact have big blogging plans for when I am done with my study-a-thon, but I found this link of top song lyrics of 2011 through Ryan Seacrest’s Facebook page and couldn’t resist posting it right this minute.

Back in the Game

Hey Everyone!

It has been FOREVER since I last posted a blog–and of course, now it is finals time, so I’m procrastinating and paying attention to my blog again! I’ve decided to keep up with my blogging more.  Yes, this has been a resolution previously, but this time I’m determined!  It is too late to write a REAL blog post, but I will definitely be doing some later this week (after my tests are out of the way).  I hope all you readers are doing well and keep on visiting my blog :)

For tonight (or today, technically), I will leave you with this: an adorable photo of a siberian husky I found over @ pinterest

Nothing Comes Close to the Golden Coast…

Well Blogging World, it is official, only 9 more days until I head to California to start work at Tiny Prints again.  Well, lucky for me (and I am being serious) I get to make the 9 hour drive all by myself.  Now, this may seem crazy to any sane person, but let me tell you: I LOVE ROAD TRIPS! Of course, it is a lot of fun to go with other people, but after a stressful quarter of classes and the challenge of choosing a different college for next year, I could use 9 hours to just sit and zone (while watching my speedometer of course).  The only reason that this long drive is bearable, and in my mind, enjoyable, is that thanks to the joys of technology, I can make playlists (instead of mix cds or tapes) on my ipod.  Yes bloggers, I will admit, I am that crazy girl driving down the freeway screaming at the top of her lungs in her car (p.s. I suck at singing, so it is best when nobody else is in the car).  I am okay with this, its a great tension reliever!  So, despite the fact that I really should be studying for my last final of sophomore year (I have 13 hours left before the test), I am instead creating playlists of the best road trip songs. So far one song that must be on the playlist–and is the reason for the title of this post–is, “California Gurls” by Katy Perry because it is so incredibly appropriate—I am a California girl through and through, and I absolutely love this song because it reminds me of being home in the sunshine.  I also plan on including some songs by Journey, Taio Cruz, OneRepublic, Carrie Underwood, B.o.B., Glee, and Brad Paisley. My gauge of a successful road trip is how hoarse my voice is when I get to my destination.  As always, I would love to get feedback in the comments. What are your favorite ‘car songs’? Is there any one band/song/genre that you have to (or for that matter cannot) listen to when you are driving? Let me know :)

As if I didn’t have enough stress with finals and moving out of my apartment, I found out today that I got accepted to Santa Clara University. I am so incredibly happy and grateful, but now I have to make a decision. Santa Clara or University of San Diego. I just don’t know what to do, I’m awful at making decisions. Thoughts blog world? Let me know (comment button above).

The Final Days….

Dear Blogging World,

I think I may be losing my mind. I’ve spent the entire day (after class) doing homework.  It is now almost one in the morning, and I just came to a point where I am okay with stopping.  I think I may have a problem with being too prepared (ha, like there is such a thing!)…”Hi,  my name is Megan. I’m overly concerned with my finals.” Group, “Hi Megan.” haha, sorry had to add some humor in there (reminds me of this clip from Finding Nemo–you have to go to 2:35 in the video)! Anyway,  I’m exhausted, but my French class is officially done except for a meeting with my professor to turn in my final exam. Yay me!  Part of the French test was writing an essay about a very nice girl who came and spoke to our class today.  She was from Cameroon, and told us all kinds of interesting facts that I certainly did not know.  Anyone out there in the blogesphere from Cameroon?  In addition to completing all my French stuff (it’s 1am, I can’t think of a better word than stuff at the moment), I also worked on my final history paper…I am 1.5 pages in…only 7 more to go! This paper is on two more books I’ve read for the class I mentioned previously in a post.  The books this time were: Murder in Amsterdam by Ian Buruma and Cafe Europa by Slavenka Draculic.  Neither of these were books that I’d heard of, or would likely pick off a shelf to read, but both were actually quite fascinating to me! I didn’t know nearly enough about the Netherlands or Croatia (the settings of these books), but now I have a little more insight into the way the Dutch & Croats lives have changed….don’t quiz me though, it’s far too late (or early, depending on how you look at it)! I’d love to get opinions on these books if anyone has them—you could potentially help me raise my B+ to an A  … I’m just sayin’  :D

Okay, at this point I’m pretty sure my sentences are no longer making sense, and my fingers seem to have troubles tapping the correct keys, so I am off to bed.  Up again tomorrow at the crack of dawn to work on more finals stuff & studying… oh joy!

Goodnight all!
